Nathaniel Rai, both families, and sixteen-year-old Ryder Williams met with the president in the Oval Office.
During a meeting at the White House on Monday, President Donald Trump hailed a 16-year-old lifeguard from California as a hero for saving a 10-year-old youngster in an ocean rescue that went viral.
Trump visited with Nathaniel Rai, who was carried into the ocean by a wave, and his family, as well as 16-year-old Ryder Williams.
When the rescue was caught on camera, it attracted national attention.
Trump remarked, “It’s an honor to be with Ryder Williams,” in the Oval Office. “I know that from the moment they saw him as a lifeguard, he was a winner. I spoke with this young man for a long time, and he saved him.”

Williams was commended by Trump, who said, “What you did was incredible and everybody saw it.” He claimed that the teenager served as an example for young Americans.
Just prior to the July 25 rescue, Williams, a lifeguard at California State Parks, was on duty when Rai was dragged into the ocean. Before another lifeguard arrived and assisted in pulling them both to shore, Williams hurried to grab hold of the youngster, who was being battered by strong waves.
Before President Trump invited Williams to the White House, the rescue went viral and caught Eric Trump’s attention.
Williams, who wants to be a fireman, told reporters, “We always try to fall back on our training in those dangerous moments that we have.” “We are trained so well by many to handle that situation as best we can.”

“I want everyone to learn from this and make an effort to assist more individuals. He said, “Try to watch out for everyone around you and try to help everyone as much as you can.”
Sumit Rai, Nathaniel’s father, who was also in the Oval Office, praised Williams and expressed his “beyond grateful” feelings for his son’s rescue.
According to Trump, the teen’s behavior demonstrated the significance of lifeguards.
